OOTW - October 3 - Pink Week

The month of October has begun. Here at the Ridge, October doesn't only mean turkey and cool costumes. If you didn’t already know, Iroquois is a huge supporter of Breast Cancer awareness month. All the students and staff come together on October 6th to watch football and wear pink. Our annual Pink game is my all time fave Ridge event that isn’t a dance. Not only does Pink day have a great sense of community but it has a great sense of style too. Here are five outfits that I thought kicked just as much butt as the junior football team.

Look one:
This simple look is totally adorable and extremely cute. It’s the type of outfit that you can just throw on, but it still looks fantastic. I like the way her black leggings make her shirt and shoes pop. Leggings are perfect for days that you want show off your cute top and accessories. This girl totally got that memo and is killing it. The focus of this look is the striped tee, which I’m a huge fan of. I’m in love with the maroon colour of the neckline fold and the way it complements the lighter pink and white stripes. And she’s a total cutie. She definitely knows how to pose for a good pic!

Look two:
This is another comfy, cute look. Again, we see simple black leggings that show off the top. This sweater is an amazing showcase piece and is what got me talking to this  girl. The texture looks soft as hell and I love the way it folds over itself. I feel like this is a piece that you can lounge around in while still feeling babelicious. Great for a cuddle sesh with bae. Also, the Adidas she’s rocking are SO in right now. She looks incredibly trendy, but she still has her own thing going for her. Originality is key. Side note: The way she and her friend are looking at each other when the picture is being taken is the cutest thing I’ve seen all week.

Look three:
Every single colour in this look matches. The light pinks are so beautiful just like the girl wearing them. This lovely lady was super sweet and even stepped out of the bbq line for a quick pic. I’m such a fan of the floral pattern on her dress. Floral is a great choice for anything anytime because it can be worn in so many different ways. She picked a classic look; a simple pretty style with the light pinks that make her look soft and sweet. She even matched her phone and wallet. Love.

Look four:
This cutie is rocking this hot pink. This guy was feeling confident in this bright shirt and khaki canvas pants. I like this clean look that could work for summer, fall, winter or spring. I feel like sometimes colours get lost in the fall. We like to stick to our greys, whites and blacks, but this guy brings the sun right back where it’s supposed to be! Fashion tip: Try to match your fall neutral colours like grey black or even this beige with solid brights like this pink or even a bright orange (Halloween is coming!). It will make you stand out in a crowd and it looks amazing!

Look five:
This is my favourite pink day look. It’s super bold and totally adorable. I’m a massive supporter of this dress. The buttons going up at the top make it look super casual and make the flowy bottom half of the dress stand out in a crazy, adorable way. I also love the way she draws attention to the dress by putting the white tee underneath. Fun fashion fact: layering neutrals like whites and blacks with solids or patterns make accessories or pieces stand out. Just like we paint the walls in our homes white to make those patterned throw pillows pop. Also, I’m not sure you can see but this Trailblazer super matched her whole look together with some bright pink eyeshadow. On fleek Maddy, on fleek.

That’s it for this week’s issue of Outfits Of The Week. Catch us next week for some more Ridge fashion! If you see Mia and I roaming and you know someone who you think is rocking it, let us know and we might feature them in our next issue:)

Till next time,

Mercedes
