Iroquois Pins on Poppies

In honor of the brave men and women who gave their lives to protect Canada, staff and students alike at the Ridge wore poppies to commemorate their actions. Not just people at our school, but people all around Canada wear poppies to represent our pride in our country and the gratitude we feel towards the people who made it so.

Canada is one of the safest countries in the world, rarely seeing danger and treachery, and that is all thanks to the people who lay down their lives in war to ensure this is how we live. Even in the light of tragedy like the one recently seen in Ottawa, Remembrance Day calls us all to show our gratitude and in situations like recent ones, come together as a country to face the tragedy come out of it. By wearing poppies, everybody at the Ridge showed their patriotism and made sure that the soldiers who went on the line for us weren't forgotten. Happy Remembrance Day, Ridge.
