Clown Craze Creeps into Canada...

It is believed that the surge of clowns wielding weapons originated in the United States of America has now entered Canada. The “creepy” clown sightings that everybody on social media has seen, has spread across more than 20 states of U.S.A, and recently into Canada, leading to arrests, school warnings, and police investigation.

Halton police say that they received one traffic complaint from Thompson road and Louis St. Laurent. Another call was received on October 7 regarding a few kids hanging out near Tim Hortons wearing clown masks; it was around midnight. They ran off before the police arrived on the scene.

Another incident occurred in Toronto outside Pope Francis Catholic School. Two kids were exiting from the elementary school when suddenly two people dressed up as clowns started chasing them around the grounds.
On Thursday, a junior high in Edmonton was placed on alert for several hours due to an alleged “clowning threat” in the neighborhood. According to a letter sent home with students from the assistant principal, the threat wasn’t made against the school or students specifically.

In Edmonton, it even caused Harley Ainlay High School to lock down. This was due to a threat in an Instagram account supposedly run by a “clown”. He called himself the arbiter and wrote in response to his comments; “You’ll be the first one to die.”, or “Killing is an act of mercy.” One student said they heard over social media that people dressed as clowns were going to attack the school, which was considered a serious, punishable threat.

All the clown-related incidents led the mayor of Vendargues, France to ban all clown costumes for Halloween.

There are different theories about these clowns. There was even a 16-year-old stabbed to death by someone in a clown suit, how scary is that? It seems like living in a horror film. However the number of arrests and the efficient way the police is handling this case, there is no doubt this “creepy clown” craze will die down soon.
