Pink Game 2015

As you all know, Iroquois Ridge knows how to create awareness and have a good time doing it! Thursday was no different . The annual pink football game took place. The school store overflowed with pink, amazing breast cancer awareness signs lined the halls and the always energetic student body and staff turned out in droves. It was obvious, this year was going to be good!

IMG_4208.JPG On Thursday, everyone was raring to go.  The football team, dressed in pink, were  excited for another game. Delicious cupcakes baked by IRHS’s very own students were being sold, along with burgers, pizza, hot dogs and of course Mr.Beck’s famous pulled pork sandwiches. The photobooth was up and running and the students were loving it. Some said their favourite part of the day was getting dressed up in pink and taking photos at the photobooth! Scarves and hats made by students were also being sold at the game. All money raised goes to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. It was so great to see all the students getting involved with such a great cause.

Although there was a lot of excitement around the photobooth, pink merchandise and snacks, the sidelines were a very popular destination as well! Everyone enjoyed the afternoon cheering on the senior team as they faced off against the Nelson Lords from Burlington. It was an exciting game and Nelson ended up taking the win with an end score of 24-6. Both teams played extremely well and brought so much pink spirit to the field.

Another year, another amazing awareness campaign. Iroquois has done it again. It couldn’t have happened without the amazing student body, staff and volunteers.
The pink campaign continues throughout the month of October with many other Pink games. It’s not over yet Ridge.!
