Ridge Report Writing and Photo Contest 2015 Now Open

Come one, come all; this is an open call to all short story writers, poets, and creative photographers looking for a challenge and a chance to win some prizes.

Ridge Report is holding a contest for all talented and ambitious Ridge students who want to show off their talent in our 3 categories: writing, poetry, and photography.

The contest theme is ‘ Time Flies’. Your piece must reflect and incorporate this theme. To enter, you can submit your work under one of the 3 topics between the time span of Monday April 6th to Wednesday May 6th. The entry page can be found at http://ridgereport.blogspot.ca/ under the red contest button. You can find the Ridge Report website by going to the IRHS website and under students clicking Ridge Report.

If you are on the fence of entering, here are some reasons you definitely should.

  1. We have a great prizes in store. The top winners of each division (writing, poetry, and art) will receive a classified prize.

  1. Whomever wins will have an achievement to add to his/her resume, application, etc. Universities, jobs, and volunteering organizations look for awards and achievements. It would be great to say “winner of high school writing contest”

  1. The top 3 winners of each category will get to have their piece published to Ridge Report.

  1. Writing, poetry, and photography is fun! If you are interesting in pursuing any of these fields, this will give you great experience and practice to see how you stack up against the rest.

Again, the entry page can be found at http://ridgereport.blogspot.ca/ under the red contest button. You can find the Ridge Report website by going to the IRHS website and under students clicking Ridge Report.
