Blood of Olympus Book Review

After nine years, the universe which demigods inhabit have closed off an arc with the Blood of Olympus. The conclusion to the Heroes of Olympus was delivered with the tag #therewillbeblood and as promised, blood arrived.

No spoilers for the book, but there was blood and tragedy in the finale of the series. It's only pitiable that Riordan didn't deliver everywhere else. The book was definitely solid. Heart pounding action, enjoyable character banter, and a heartwarming final chapter help the Blood of Olympus send of the series with flare. So where does it underwhelm?

Amazing Spider-man #2 review

STK639259After the relaunch of the Amazing Spider-man, Peter Parker has had his world flipped upside down and the second issue continues the tale of the wall crawler dealing with the damage Otto Octavius has done to his personal life.

After the introductory first issue, major events happen in the second issue, making the pace rapid and ongoing. To antagonize Spider-man this issue is Electro, who has a beef with Spider-man after the Superior Spider-man enslaved him for his "Superior Six". The battle between Spider-man and Electro is dynamic and flashy as usual, with the artist, Humberto Ramos, using his strength in illustrating battle scenes to make it explosive and visually appealing. However, the fight is brief and unresolved, and makes the real highlight of this issue the character interactions.

Staff of Serapis Review

When Rick Riordan announced the Son of Sobek, excitement was high. As the official crossover between the Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus series and the Kane Chronicles series, the short story was huge news. While the Son of Sobek was a solid read, it didn't really have the gravitas or high magnitude we were expecting. However, Riordan continues the storyline in a sequel called the Staff of Serapis, which stars female leads of the respective series's and has managed to send the series soaring.

Blood of Olympus Cover Revealed: My thoughts

Blood of Olympus Rick Riordan Cover 2The popular children's book series, the Heroes of Olympus, is coming to a close with the Blood of Olympus this fall, and the cover has been released.

This book will cap off ten years of stories set in the fictional Percy Jackson universe, featuring characters from the Percy Jackson & Olympians and the Heroes of Olympus series. For such a momentous book, the cover looks... underwhelming.
