In the past two years, Toronto has seen some iconic productions return to Mirvish Theatre stages, including Les Miserables and Wicked. In 2015 we are anticipating two more exciting classics among many other enticing productions. Tickets are now on sale for the 2015 Toronto productions Jersey Boys and Newsies. Both have won multiple awards including Tony Awards. They are truly iconic classics that no Thespian is unfamiliar with.
Any show-tunes fanatic would recognise famous Jersey Boys tunes such as “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and “Oh What a Night”, both classic scores in this amazing musical. The production will be directed by Torontonian, and Tony award winning director Des McAnuff, with a stellar cast that the Toronto Star’s critics has already commended. Jersey Boys will be at the Ed Mirvish Theatre from December 17th 2014 - Jan 4th 2015. Click here for more ticket information.
Extra Extra! Newsies is coming to Toronto! The choreography and energy of the Tony award winning musical will be at the Ed Mirvish Theatre from July 8th - August 16th 2015. Though the cast, and director have not yet been decided, the classic based-on-a-true-story is a crowd pleaser that has made this show an iconic favourite to see with families and friends. With lively music and energetic dance numbers, it’s a perfect summer musical. Click here for more ticket information.
I am extremely excited to go see these productions and can’t wait for another year of amazing and iconic productions at the heart of our city.
