Hi everybody and happy Halloween! Today, instead of Mercedes, it’s Mia (the one who takes all the awesome pictures) updating you on the best outfits. I know, bummer (but let me just say, I’m twice as cool as Mercedes. JUST KIDDING MECHE). She’s very territorial over this column, so this is a special moment for me. OOTW - October 17 - Sweater Weather Week

The leaves aren't the only things dropping this time of year - the temperatures are going down as well. And with lower temperatures, comes higher fashion. This week is Sweater Weather Week, where we put a spotlight on the warmest, most fashionable sweaters, sweatshirts and hoodies of the season. Here are five Trailblazers that showed up to school looking the cutest and the coziest.

Thanksgiving DIY - Turkey Napkin Holders

Thanksgiving is a time to be grateful for what we have, reunite with family and friends, share what’s in the goodness of our hearts, but most importantly… EAT TURKEY! In this spirit, I've put together a quick DIY project that you can actually do with the artistic skills you have, and the materials you actually have at home.

These fun turkey napkin and cutlery holders are good projects for young children, or the young at heart, I promise you’re not too cool for arts and crafts. I tried some myself for the article photos.

More than 100 types. Number two killer in developed countries. About nine Canadians die from it per hour. Almost half of us Canadians will develop it. A predicted quarter of us will die from it. However, about 60 percent of the people who get it are completely cured, and it is thirty percent preventable. What? Cancer. Where? Everywhere. How do we cure it? Support events like the Terry Fox run, which in turn supports research.

OOTW - October 3 - Pink Week

The month of October has begun. Here at the Ridge, October doesn't only mean turkey and cool costumes. If you didn’t already know, Iroquois is a huge supporter of Breast Cancer awareness month. All the students and staff come together on October 6th to watch football and wear pink. Our annual Pink game is my all time fave Ridge event that isn’t a dance. Not only does Pink day have a great sense of community but it has a great sense of style too. Here are five outfits that I thought kicked just as much butt as the junior football team.

Fall is upon us, and with fall comes fall fashion - one of my personal favorite fashion seasons of the year. This year, Ridge Report’s new Outfits Of The Week column will update you on Trailblazer trends and what Iroquois students are rocking today. Mia Semeniuk (my trusty photographer) and I roamed the Ridge and found six Trailblazers that we want to applaud for truly slaying the fashion game this week.

Getting Involved at the Ridge

If you were at Club Day a couple weeks ago, you’ve probably noticed that the lunch and after school hours here at Iroquois Ridge are jam packed with clubs, bands, and teams. From Interact to physics club to the mock trial team, there are a lot of wacky but wonderful activities going on. The sheer number of choices can be overwhelming, so keep on reading if you want to get involved but are unsure of where to start!

Fall Fest 2016

Last week, students, families, friends, and teachers of Iroquois Ridge gathered at our school for one of the first school-wide events of the year- Fall Fest. The hours of work Student Council and the clubs of our school put into it payed off, as the night was a success.
